SWPBIS Mission Statement
School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program (SWPBIS)
Student Behavioral Expectations:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
What is PBIS?
Through our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program, which we call “Buddy's Best” (after our mascot, Buddy), students are explicitly taught the expectations and procedures for each area of the school. Every member of the staff then supports the application of that instruction by recognizing good behavior and decision-making.
CES Mission Statement
The mission of Churchville School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBIS) is to create a safe learning community that promotes student achievement through the consistent practice of respect, responsibility, and safety.
Our goal is to provide a positive, safe, healthy, supportive and challenging environment in which the whole child has the opportunity to achieve socially, emotionally and academically. We will provide this through the implementation of SWPBIS, which promotes the following:
1. Development of clearly defined and consistent student expectations and accountabilities.
2. Communication and collaboration between administration, staff, students, families and the community.
3. Data is reviewed and shared with administration, staff and students on a regular basis and is used to respond flexibly to Churchville's needs.
How Parents Can Help
Remind your child about the three expectations in school:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
These expectations have applications that are specific to the various areas of the school. Please refer to the school-wide positive behavior matrix for specifics on how these positive behaviors present themselves in each area.
